Our Spanish programs run throughout the year and are taught by highly qualified and experienced teachers. You will learn the most important areas of the language - i.e. grammar, writing, reading, conversation and comprehension - in four week study blocks divided into beginner, elementary, intermediate and advanced levels of two courses each.

We also offer a SEMI-INTENSIVE PROGRAM of 20 hours a week - a new block starts every month.

In addition, our WINTER PROGRAM runs from October to March, letting you escape the bitter Northern winters for the warmth of Yucatan state (average temperatures in Merida in the coldest month - December - are between 25 - 28 deg C).

One of the particularly attractive features of our courses is the opportunity you’ll have to take any of a number of CREDIT COURSES OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSIDAD PATRIA in Mérida at no extra cost to you. You’ll be able to practise your Spanish, broaden your vocabulary and learn specific terminology in areas such as marketing, administration, finance, economics, visual arts, human resources, graphic design, international business and international affairs. In addition, if you have an 80% attendance rate you have the right to take the final exam at the end of the month.

As an extra service to its students, Canadventures also offers CONVERSATION CLUBS AND WORKSHOPS in the mornings, where coffee, fresh beverages and cookies are served to complete the friendly and comfortable environment. There is a small additional fee for attendance at these workshops.

SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE: This course is designed for students with limited or no exposure to Spanish. The course surveys the mechanics of writing, reading, grammar and conversation, an intensive introductory course which emphasizes the active use of Spanish for practical communication while both providing a thorough grounding in the basics of grammar and developing students' awareness of the cultural contexts where Spanish is spoken. Extensive use is made in the lectures and conversation workshops of a variety of audiovisual/multimedia materials. This course is aimed at classroom learners of Spanish as a foreign language.
